RFEM 4 represents a 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) program for the ambitious structural engineer that meets the requirements of modern civil engineering and mirrors the current state of art.RFEM is the basis of a modular software system: The basic module RFEM determines the internal forces, deformations and support reactions of plates, shells or frameworks. For the following design, add-on modules are available which account for the specific requirements of materials and codes. Due to this modular conception of the software, a package can be assembled that is tailored to individual demands.

Version 4.10.0001
- Release of new add-on module RF-STEEL CS
- Modifications concerning line support forces for load combinations. For line supports the program's output has always shown the maximum value of the force in the FE node. As the maximum force from all loads on each FE node has also been evaluated when the support forces were superimposed in a load combination, the sum of the support force has often been clearly overvalued. This has been improved: Now each load case is evaluated for the sum of reactions, and only the maximum values resulting from it are used. Mixing results on each node does no longer happen.
- FE mesh generator has been improved.
- Interface from Autodesk REVIT to RFEM has been improved.
Option added to transfer data to RFEM only for the elements visible in REVIT
Optional creation of surfaces with elastic foundations instead of nodal supports for single foundations
Import of rigid connections from Revit to RFEM
Optimized recognition of rectangular cross-sections due to numerous parameters. Thus, several types of rectangle cross-sections will be recognized automatically.
Option to connect objects automatically after import to RFEM. So it is possible to correct input errors for the structural model defined in Revit.

The cross-section type 2UR was considered as closed cross-section when torsional constants were determined. Due to modifications these cross-section types are now treated as open cross-sections.
- RF-COM: Corrections for overwriting and defining dimensions. It happened that program crashed when data was overwritten. When defining data, the program did not apply all reference surfaces correctly for the arrangement of dimensions.
- STP export and import has been improved.
- Elimination of problem occurring with curved contact solids. It happened that tensile forces were transferred in spite of tension failure.
- Problem in DXF import has been eliminated.
- Crash occurring when generating FE mesh has been eliminated.
- Problem occurring for pure loading due to temperature applied to members has been eliminated. The loading was not effective for the member non-linearity "slippage".
- Elimination of a problem with regard to 64 bit solver. Whe ncalculating structures with non-linear concrete, an error message was displayed when the 64 bit solver was activated.
- Crash occurring in calculation has been eliminated.
- Crash occurring when creating intersections has been eliminated.
- Break-off limit for ending the calculation according to second-order analysis has been modified
